U of SC Adds Degree Completion Programs – OnlineBusinessDegree.org
Students looking to complete their bachelor’s degrees will have a new online option in fall 2013. Palmetto College, the University of South Carolina’s new online, baccalaureate degree completion program, will offer students who have finished at least 60 hours of coursework the opportunity to complete their degrees in business, criminal justice, education, and nursing.
The University of South Carolina will also begin offering an online master’s degree in engineering management.
The program is designed for adult students who may be geographically limited, students with credits remaining to complete their bachelor’s degree, and associate degree holders looking to progress to a bachelor’s degree. The program only offers upper division courses primarily delivered online in an asynchronous format which allows students to learn in their own time and at their own pace, rather than having set online class times.
Palmetto College, formerly known as Palmetto Programs, facilitates greater educational access to students at the University of South Carolina’s regional campuses. Palmetto College already offers an online Bachelor of Arts in Organizational Leadership that prepares students for leadership roles in government, nonprofit, and business settings.
The University of South Carolina is partnering with Academic Partnerships to launch the new degree completion programs. Academic Partnerships specializes in helping universities convert traditional on-campus courses and degree programs into an online delivery format.
