WGU Tuition Holds Steady for Fifth Year –

Private, not-for-profit Western Governors University is bucking the trend of many colleges and universities by keeping their tuition at the same amount for the fifth consecutive year.

WGU, an online university offering bachelor’s and master’s degree programs in various fields, is keeping its tuition steady at $2,890 per six-month term or $5,780 per year for most of its programs. Students can complete as many courses as they are able during a six-month term.

“At a time when we need more college graduates than ever before, high costs are forcing students too far into debt or keeping them from attending college at all,” Patrick Partridge, WGU’s Chief Marketing Officer, said in a press release. “WGU is committed to keeping college affordable, particularly for working adults who must balance work and family responsibilities.”

WGU is nationally accredited by the Distance Education and Training Council and regionally accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities.
