Spotlight: Saint Leo University
Saint Leo University was founded in 1889 as a private liberal arts-based university in Florida and is the oldest Catholic institution in the state. Students at Saint Leo have the opportunity to attend classes at its traditional campus, through programs offered online, and at education centers located on military bases.
Saint Leo University is regionally accredited by the Commission on Colleges of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools and only accepts transfer credit from other regionally-accredited degree-granting institutions.
The core mission at Saint Leo is for students to genuinely live their lives with rich Catholic values while striving for excellence through individual and collective efforts, though the school welcomes online learners of all faiths, as well as those with no religious affiliation. To help encourage personal development and growth, online undergraduate students must take three courses in religion or philosophy, with no Christian or Catholic-specific subject requirements, as part of their core curriculum.
Online students can earn an associate’s degree in Business Administration, accredited by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education. This degree serves as a foundation for a career in business and can prepare graduates for further studies in the business field. Students will take core business classes including, but not limited to, accounting, business law, marketing, and management.
Bachelor degree programs for business are attainable online as well. These include a Bachelor of Arts in accounting; business administration with specializations in accounting, management, or marketing; human resources management; international hospitality and tourism management, as well as a Bachelor of Science in computer information systems or health care management.
Saint Leo also offers several master’s degree programs, where students take advanced courses to prepare themselves to land prime positions in the business workforce after graduation. Saint Leo University offers MBAs in the following specializations: accounting, health care management, human resource management, information security management, marketing, and sport business.
